I wish I could this vision clinic negative stars. I went to this clinic to have my biannual glasses and contact prescriptions redone. I was given a trial pair of lenses (the doctor insisted I change brands from what I had been using) which is usually included with the fitting fee, I paid my total bill at the time of the initial fitting. When I returned for my followup appointment everything looked fine so I asked the INCREDIBLY rude receptionist if I could have a print out of my prescription but did not order my contacts from them (as their receptionist was very rude and I had decided I would not be returning to the clinic). She called another lady from the back to tell me that they would not give me my prescription that I HAD ALREADY PAID FOR unless I either ordered contacts from them or paid an additional $40 for the contacts they had given me during my fitting. Absolutely ridiculous, I will never return and I'd highly recommend anybody considering this clinic to look elsewhere.
Despite the Christian music playing in the background; be prepared to be treated like a 2nd class citizen if you recieve state insurance. More-so, be prepared for the eye-rolls at the front desk, should you attempt to express your dissatisfaction or belief that you are being mistreated because of it. From the beginning, when I attempted to address the lack of reminder for my own appointment; and until the end when I pointed out that my sons were being given forms and agreements without my knowledge; despite my presence in the adjacent seating area; I was treated as though I had no place there. We know that our 13 year olds can sign medical paperwork, but should we be treated in front of our children as though we have no say? When it came to my own experience, because I have state insurance, I was not even offered a frame to look at, I was simply told "your glasses are not covered". Many of us on state insurance have fulltime jobs, and earn incomes, and we are capable of affording eyeglasses, we just need to be shown a catalogue, not treated as though we are looking for handouts. When we ask about measurements or contacts, the first response should not be "that isn't covered by your insurance". The bible is very clear about our duty to one another as Christians and there was nothing kind, compassionate, or genuine about my experience. I would strongly discourage DSHS recipients from coming here. They will treat you horribly.
