I own a carpet cleaning company and I have seen about every type of install. The problem is the company's sub the work out to sub contractors by the lowest bid and the quality is just not there. You call the home depot back and they tell you to get a hold of the installer for the warranty work and guess what? That's right they are out of business cause you can't stay in business these days doing substandard work. I have seen some many bad installs "Wrinkles" from big name companies.
If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur..
