Search Ray Smith's licensing record and read the investigation that was conducted that found him guilty of violating several policies. He was disciplined as he should have been. His reckless and unprofessional conduct could have caused me to lose custody of my child who he didn't even counsel. A counselor who secretly takes on a child as a patient without the custodial parent's consent and then writes a declaration for the courts alleging child abuse after 4 sessions of only speaking to the other parent is nothing less than extremely unethical. This counselor refused to release my daughter's medical records to me or even acknowledge he had been seeing her, though my daughter said he only ever asked her how she was doing and how school was going and spent the rest of the time talking to her dad while she sat in the waiting room. That is not counseling and there is no way a counselor can come to a definite conclusion that a child has been abused after four sessions of speaking to her dad and absolutely no evidence to substantiate this allegation. The fact that he claims to be a Christian makes it even worse. He refused to even talk to me and continued to see my daughter even after I and my attorney gave him formal notice that he did not have my permission which was required per our parenting plan. I am happy to report my daughter is still with me and thriving. I thank God every day for keeping our family together. Mr. Smith, on the other hand, will one day be held accountable for his actions. More than he was by the disciplinary board.
