This is my first one-star review. That's how bad the customer service is at this Madewell store location. The staff literally won't let you pick up the clothes to view them unless they're on a hanger... I'm not kidding. In fact, the store manager, Jean, told me this was their policy after repeatedly asking me "if I needed a size" and me repeatedly replying "I'm fine, thank you though". She then had the audacity to grab the sweaters from me and said it was store policy that customers couldn't pickup the clothes. While I get how frustrating it is for customers to mess up your stacks of clothes all the time, that wasn't the case in this situation. I was being respectful and minding my own business browsing items I planned to try on and buy. I left after voicing how disrespected I felt from Jean's harassment. I will be reporting this incident and Jean, the manager, to corporate. This kind of behavior and mistreatment towards paying customers should never be tolerated. Needless to say I will not be coming back.
