We went in for our daughter's severe food allergies. He spent five minutes talking at us about her possible seasonal allergies (which were mild). As we asked questions about possible treatments, he became agitated and rushed through the rest of the appointment. He did not seem up-to-date on current food allergy knowledge and tried to convince us to medicate her with prophylactic antihistamines (which can complicate testing and future reactions). He charged us $250 for the consultation and then ordered over $600 in unnecessary blood testing, even though I made it known before our visit that we would be paying out of pocket and that our insurance is limited. He dismissed her previous allergy records and history which could have narrowed down the testing to an affordable range. If your child has a serious food allergy, I highly recommend finding an immunologist in Seattle and not investing in an expensive 5 minute appointment to see if he will be the right fit. I found Dr. Craven and his office staff to not be satisfactorily equipped to handle such conditions very well.
