Olympia Timberland Library

Great staff that tries to make this a welcoming place to everyone. Unfortunately, that means that it becomes by default a warming shelter for the homeless and all the problems that brings. This is not a place I am comfortable spending very much time as it is overcrowded, noisy, and unclean. I would never let my child out of my sight in this library branch and certainly not let him use the restroom alone. This library needs to be replaced with a modern facility. We need to find better ways to help the homeless and let the library be a place for people who want to read and learn. Libraries are so important for our community but this library is overburdened with the most needy people which limits its ability to serve everyone. This branch has some non-circulating books that can't be found elsewhere so you can't avoid it entirely. If there was a TRL kiosk in west Olympia to pickup holds and drop off returns, I would be thrilled.
