Were it not for one person's grace at Quadra-fire Colville (first name P., in parts department), I too would rate them "Totally Awful - 0 stars". The $1600 standing NG stove we had installed started failing at about 5 years. You know, about the time Quadra-fire's warranty totally expires. Since then Quadra-fire would not talk to me, the owner ("talk to a dealer"), would not answer support questions ("talk to a dealer"), and generally would not step up and stand behind their product and customer. Avoid. ps: Quadra-fire so-called "Premier Dealers" in Puget Sound region are a mixed bag at best. Owner beware.
We bought a PelletPro Stove PP130 from their line of stoves, thankfully from North40. As we got the new Stove Home set everything up, did the first burn, cleaned the stove and then let it run. This filled up our whole lower part of the home with smoke. After some back and forth with the sales people, we called the 800 Nr. explained everything to them and they wanted me to start to take the stove apart and reseal it. Yupp thats why we bought a new stove. Luckily North40 still understands Customer Service and exchanged the stove. After the 1 year of running. Cleaning the Baffles is a hassle at best, if you run anything other then the Premium Pellets, you will be cleaning the stove every 12-16 hrs. Now the the Stoves just shuts down and charcoals up. Cleaned the whole unit. Does the same thing again, talked to North40 and they told me they are having problems with the Control boards. Well Hearth & Home answer was that the whole unit has to be cleaned. So Basically if you buy this stove, expect no support, expect to tear down this unit every year at least and hope it's work. Yes it is winter, my room is in the 50's inside, so don't buy this unit if you need reliable Heat.
