I lost a pin and retainer that attaches the lift link to the draft link on my tractor. This is a unique pin that can be installed two different ways in order to place the draft links in either the lock or float positions. Yesterday I was told that they had a complete set in stock and they would hold it for me to get today. When I arrived, they told me that they only had the pin and not the retainer. The one is useless without the other. In their defense, they did try to call me a few hours after I first spoke to them, but they were unable to leave a message because my voicemail was full. They told me that they would ship me the retainer on Monday (2 days from now). I paid for the pin and retainer and then walked around outside to look at tractors. They had half a dozen different models on the lot that were equipped with that pin and retainer. I went back in and asked if they could just sell me one of those retainers so that I could finish my fields before it rains. The parts guy said he would get in trouble and he couldn't do it. My gripe is that the location in Sumner has done that exact thing for me on a few occasions over the years without a problem. Our local motorcycle shop has done the same thing for me when they didn't have the parts in stock. After a 2 hour drive, it would have been nice if they could have helped me out a little bit. Oh well. I suppose they didn't do anything "wrong", but they certainly didn't go out of the way to make it a good experience.
