Why keep your money somewhere that only wants to profit off of you? I prefer people over profits. We recently moved our money to BECU after US Bank subjected us to some really shady and unfair business practices. They called and asked me if I "wanted to get a better interest rate on some overdraft protection" and made it seem like it was something really special they were doing because they cared, which sounded reasonable, but it was actually a credit card. We were sent credit cards, both to myself and my husband, without our permission. This hurt our credit score and we never intended to open a credit card, they were just very deceptive and "careful with their words."
When my husband went in to complain, he was told by their head of Customer Service that they are "a for-profit business" and that "lots of other banks do it" and "good like finding anything better anywhere else."
Well we did, it's called a Credit Union, and they actually care about their members. Yay for BECU!
