If I could give this -5 stars I would. This place is horrible. They don't care about you or your family. Around Mother's Day every year I get reminded about my horrible experience while taking my son to the ER department of this hospital. One evening my son was outside with his older sisters playing on our Toys R Us playground set with his grandma. While I was inside cooking my son climbed up the ladder on the playground set which you can wedge your feet between to climb up. Long story short, he looked behind his shoulder at my mom and let go but his foot got caught and he ended up with a split fracture in his shin. At first he cried and wanted to be consoled and fell asleep. It was around his bedtime so when he fell asleep in my arms, I laid him down. Meanwhile, my husband was at work. My son woke up later and wouldn't stop crying. I called my mother In law who use to be a nurse, who came over to watch my girls while I took him to the ER with my mom. When we got there we told the receptionist what had happened. When we talked to the nurse and doctor, we told them what happened and specifically repeated the accident happened in our backyard Toys R Us playground set's ladder. Since it was late when we brought him in (10pm) the doctor who barely examined my son said he was probably just tired. I explained to him he wasn't wanting to walk. He acted annoyed and after a lot of convincing he agreed to an x-ray. I talked to the X-ray tech and also told him what happened. When the results came in the doctor apologized for initially not wanting to x-ray him. We got referred to a specialist for our son to get his cast and thought everything was okay....... then few days later I get a visit from CPS accusing my husband (who was AT WORK that evening) of negligence and child abuse and that our son fell off a large work ladder based off the nurse's notes. The ER manager reviewed the nurses notes of our visit and called CPS. I let CPS come into my home, (we have nothing to hide) so they can clear up their misinformation from TRIOS ER and had them take pictures of our playground set. I asked them to interview the receptionist, doctor, ultrasound tech, and specialist to validate our story. Afterwards they informed us that even if they cleared it up they simply couldn't take us off CPS watch list for 7 years! So if any of our kids have another accident and get brought to the hospital. They have grounds to knock on our door and investigate. They later found out that the notes of the doctor was not sent in at the same time and had they been, the ER manager would have never called CPS. Accusing a family of Child Abuse and Negligence is HUGE deal. You would think there would be a strict and detailed process when it comes to doing so but apparently at Trios hospital accusing a family of child abuse isn't a big deal and they don't care about the consequences because they don't get any. SO.....on Mother's Day I got a visit from Pasco police regarding the CPS complaint which is part of the package. SO every year I am haunted by the traumatic experience me and my family experienced due to the fact Trios ER hospital is careless when it comes to caring for and processing their patients. I intended to write a review about this earlier but it being so fresh made it tougher to want to do. But because mother's day is coming up it seems appropriate to do and people should know that if your kid is being a kid and playing outside and has an accident. DON'T GO TO TRIOS for help!
