Sweet Peas Tea Room

I have recommended this place to many people despite some of the things I have experienced that have left me wondering "why?" On one occasion I had tea there, I had asked if it was ever an option to just get clotted cream and biscuits with my tea, instead of the tea sandwiches, etc. I was told no, they don't serve only biscuits and clotted cream. However, 15 minutes later a customer, who perhaps was a "regular", sat right next to me and asked for biscuits and clotted cream and was given just biscuits and clotted cream. I wondered to myself if I had been afforded the opportunity to purchase just those items, perhaps I too would have become a regular customer. Needless to say, it was disappointing, but I moved on. Then on another occasion, while bringing yet another few "newbies" with me, I asked if I could take some of my items to go since I wasn't able to stay long and if, with my biscuits, I could get a little clotted cream since my table was using the allotted amount (and was staying behind). Again, I was told no...YET, saw another customer afforded that opportunity. It was certainly a few occasions that make you wonder why so selective with the clotted cream? I laugh at my review because it appears I have a clotted cream dilemma! However, a little consistency goes a long way with your customers.

Fun experience and beautiful interior. But owner/waitress is not the most friendly and can be rude and unaccomodating at times. Limited tea selection compared to other tea rooms I have been to and you can tell some of the food/pastries are not completely homemade. Would be willing to try it again, but definetly not the best tea room in the Portland/Vancouver area.
