Sound Homebrew Supply

I've had it with this place! Never again. I don't know where all these "local guide" glowing reviews are coming from. They must be confused or well paid. On the positive side, they do have a good selection of homebrew equipment and supplies. Their prices are average, considering that Seattle is a high cost area. But after four separate trips there, that's all the good I can say. The old-timer and the man-bun guy are consistently less then helpful. On three separate trips they couldn't find the time to give me more than the most basic answers to simple new brewer questions. I started to go to another homebrew shop further away with much better staff. And was happy. Last weekend was the final straw... I was looking for some sorghum extract to try a gluten free recipe. My regular shop didn't carry it so I called SHS. They said they had some and I drove there. But when I got there and asked about it, the old guy remembered my call took me over to the extract area and guess what? They didn't have it. And you know what he said? Simply "is there anything else you need?" Now I understand that mistakes happen, but the fact that he was so damn nonchalant and unapologetic about it really torked me. Never again. My advice: find any other homebrew shop, even if they are further away or smaller.
