I own a delivery company. My driver got stuck in some gravel. I called this company to pull the truck out of the gravel. He said he had to call State Patrol to do an incident report first. I asked why, and he said it is the law. I said never mind. I called another towing company and they came out right away and took care of my driver. Unfortunately this guy called State Patrol on us anyway. I've been in this business for 20 years, needed many tows for many different reasons, and never had a tow company who wanted to get their customer in trouble with the law. On top of that my father is an attorney, and I asked him to research any laws that require tow companies to report stuck motorists to State Patrol and there is no such RCW code. So this fellow is dishonest too. I have been told that the reason he wanted to call State Patrol is so he can get authorization to charge exhorbanent "State Patrol" rates. The state Patrol rates are speculation on my part...I could be wrong.
