Poor practice on behalf of staff; uncomfortable social environment made for customers. Our party had dinner here at Longhouse Buffet during our stay at the Suquamish Clearwater Casino Resort and left with an unfortunate dining experience. Upon entering our party noticed one of the staff members "Sean" seemed to be lingering around our group. Maybe our relaxed clothing caught him off guard, but after a day on the water, we just wanted to eat. Second Red Flag: two members of my party returned to the table saying they overheard one of the food handlers being scolded for cutting too large of pieces for the prime rib portion of the buffet. Immediately left our table uneasy, these things should be handled in private amongst employees, not within earshot of customers. Third Red Flag: there was an asian elderly woman whom I believe may have been putting sesame balls into a napkin with the intent to take it along with her. All of a sudden my party is disrupted by "Sandra" embarrassingly berating the elderly woman, speaking condescendingly as if the woman being asian meant she was stupid. We all understand, buffet food should stay in the restaurant, but again, maybe this should be handled in private because Sandra surely made all the surrounding tables uncomfortable after making a spectacle. To add insult to injury, Sandra had a good chuckle with a female waitress at the expense of the elderly woman. Then, consulted with Sean once again, making their presence known, standing in the middle of the dining area having a discussion within earshot of customers. Our party left in disgust of their professional standards. We will continue to spread the word of our experience here at Longhouse Buffet and Suquamish Clearwater Casino Resort and will never return to this establishment.
