My power bill recently went up by $70. I had LESS usage than ever. They claim it is because we had 16 days of colder weather than last year. So what... I do not even have a heat source in my house besides a Woodstove which has NO fan or electrical attachments. Then they back pedalled and claimed people use their driers more in winter ... Nice try, I don't have a drier here. Then they continued by saying the hot water heater is harder to heat during the winter and consumes more energy. Again nice try, ours is heated with propane. Finally, it was stated that I must have forgotten about the holidays with tree lights etc. Again, nice try ... I had only one additional light source and it ran off a battery pack. I told them that they should at least be honest about the fact that they are gauging with a rate hike without notice ... The rate increase was denied. I am disgusted with the rate hike AND even MORE disgusted with the lies. I have done a lot of research and find that those of us who pay our bills also pay greatly for those lazy asses who choose to live off the system. What ever happened to personal accountability??? If you cannot afford to pay for your own, then you cannot have it !!! You bet they will turn mine off if I don't pay my bill. So tired of things like this !!! Boo Hiss for the dishonesty !! And SHAME on all those who don't pay for what they use !!!
