I waited to write this review because I want it to be honest rather than angry. Our wedding was August 5th and it was beautiful and we loved the space. Nicole was available if we needed. We were allowed some extra things for our ceremony that made it special. However, leading up to the day and following it was not so great. If you use this venue get everything in explicit writing and take detailed pictures of the space before and after. There were multiple instances where things were changed without our notification or Nicole claimed she never said things we know she did. The day after the wedding, Nicole texted about a missing DVD player stating "somebody took it from the closet could you ask whoever was here somebody snagged our DVD player." I responded that no one had access to that closet - there was stuff placed in front so it couldn’t even open. We went on our honeymoon and had our phones off, and 5 days later there was no update on the DVD player. I asked about it and she responded she had found it. I later mentioned she accused our party of stealing and then didn’t inform me when she found the item and she denied accusing us of stealing, despite her words "somebody snagged our DVD player." I got our deposit deduction letter on Saturday August 19th. I have no issue with paying for any damages caused by us, but some we did not do. Nicole accused me of going directly against her word by removing linens from the tables and chairs and placing in a pile. The contract, emails with her, and the cleaning list she left all said to remove them and separate stained items. We triple checked the cleaning list before leaving the venue. Nicole insisted that she had told me verbally before the wedding and wrote it on the cleaning sheet. This is not true. The day after the wedding we met Nicole at the Gathering House to pick up some things and she showed us a small damp spot where water had spilled on carpet the night before and said if the spot remained it would need to be cleaned. I asked for a receipt if there was a professional spot cleaning. Nicole included an image of the carpet with multiple stains, nothing like what we saw, and an emailed quote for a carpet cleaning based on the sq ft of the whole room. On the 20th I asked for a receipt and got none. She claimed that our group broke the lock on a “staff only” cupboard, stole a can of lemonade mix, dumped it out and used the can as a grease catch. Nicole said she found the can in the dumpster while taking out trash that we left in the kitchen. We did not leave anything in the kitchen. We took garbage bags home with us so that the dumpster could close. Our crew had no need for a grease catch (food was pre-cooked), and no one in the kitchen broke the cupboard. I spoke with them before responding that there was no way this was us. Further, if we had left a broken lock I don’t understand why she wouldn’t mention this when we visited the next day and she showed us the carpet. I believe there was an event after us and was confusion over what happened when. I sent an email on the 20th and took time to make it respectful and professional. Her reply was accusatory and rude. At the end I said: “I will be including all of this and more in my reviews.” Her response: “just make sure your actually telling the truth, not just parts that make you look like a victim. I bent over backwards to help make sure you got what you wanted and allowed things I would never have allowed before. I'm sure you will forget to mention those extra things you got but will for sure try and slander me because your upset about paying for your own damages during your rental time.” I don’t think Nicole is intentionally dishonest, more just bad at this job. Spelling, grammar, and professionalism were lacking in all of her correspondence as well as on the contracts and website. We have been wrongfully blamed for damages. She wants to make her clients happy and has good intentions, but cannot maintain a professional demeanor nor keep her policies and records straight.
