Beware of this place, I am a former employee and was there from the start. The owner, Kevin is a crook, he has cheated myself and a great many others of their pay. The so called non profit is a sham with no real board of directors, Kevin does this on purpose in order to "control the board". He has made one blunder after another including knowingly hiring drug addicts and even had one living on the lot as a "security guard". There are multiple complaints against him with the state over refusing to pay employees. Ultimately I feel saddened by this as I and many others believed in this cause. His side venture which is Old Hickory Sheds is also a joke. The claim is that 10% of shed sales goes to disabled vets. I assure you that every commission check received went to paying for org bills and nothing else. When I say bills, I mean his credit cards, his food, the rent of the building which is were he lives. The biggest shed commission check that i made was 6k. It was spent on payroll, his rent, and bills only. Never to a vet or a vet job. The amount of labor laws that he has broken is beyond ridiculous. From working a minor 40 plus hrs and under the table. 1099 employees who never filled out any necessary forms. Among the worse of his offences is knowingly screwing vets out of their money. Plenty of witnesses to that statement! Kevin is a liar when he says he is 501C3, he is not and far from it. He is using fiscal sponsorship from the flying wheels out of California.
