This is a classic small town coffee shop. We walked in at 7:15 am to find a collection of old boys sitting at their regular tables nursing cups of coffee and talking about the neighbor's dog. There wasn't a head in the house that didn't have gray hair other than the blonde waitress and the cook who had none. I had the Denver omelet and asked for crispy hash browns ( I got them) and a homemade biscuit that was pretty darn good. My son had the biscuits and gravy with sausage and eggs. There was so much that His 6'4" 195# frame couldn't eat it all. The hard ice cream shake he had may be part of why he couldn't but I have to say the serving size was intimidating. I was able to get a side of gravy for my biscuit and found it in need of a little tabasco sauce but that's just me.
It's in a 100 year old warehouse that is in desperate need of a facelift since it's last remodel that looks to be 70's. Don't let the facade scare you away. The food is great and so is the service which I found to be worth a 20% tip. Look at the ceiling when you are there to see the huge beams that were designed to hold the heavy loads of its past life as a cannery. This is a piece of Whatcom County history that we should all support. Loved it and hope you do too.
