Great service, great food...so why 3 stars? My family of 4 eat here fairly regularly. I admit I am biased, looking at it from a family restaurant vs a golf course add-on perspective. Service is always great, sometimes a little slow but only when it's very busy, so that's not the wait staffs fault. The restaurant has limted and poor seating arrangements. No booths, they used to have booths and it was great. Regularly when we are there we see people come in and there is nowhere to sit. There is a lounge seating area with a padded bench that is pretty cool but really not very well thought out. Always like an ice box, very cold. The menu could use some updating as well, several years ago it used to be much better. The biggest reason 3 stars: We commonly talk to wait staff about these things. There response..."we hear that all the time." Management of this restaurant is clearly not listening. The fact is that they are surrounded by single family residents that have limited dining options at the moment, listen to your customers!! At the end of the day I still recommend this restaurant. I choose to write honest, if often wordy, reviews to both help potential diners and business owners better their establishments and ultimately bottom line. Druids: Listen to your staff and customers. I know I would visit more if you made some fairly minor changes.
My husband and I love this place. We often come here for an afternoon beer, after practicing at the driving range...well, he calls it practicing, I call it - him criticizing me on my stance and my grip for an hour or so ;) They have a great selection of beers, usually 30 or more on draft. They also have a good selection of wines and hard liquor. Ten years ago, when my husband and I first moved to the area, their menu was more extensive - more steaks and chops, etc. Now it's more pub grub or bar food - nachos, fish and chips, sliders, hot wings, burgers - and while I love pub grub, I long for the old days when they had several different types of steak on the menu and more choices as far as entrees go. They do still have at least one steak and their whiskey chicken dish on the menu (which has been good every time I've had it, but is quite a lot of food and very rich). The changes in their menu don't prevent me from giving them five stars since, most of the time, the food is good and the location, scenery, atmosphere and beer/wine/liquor selection really can't be beat. Rachel, the bar manager, always has a cheerful greeting, a smile on her face, and a hug for the regulars. Staff is always friendly and helpful.
