Cle Elum-Roslyn Elementary

We had to take our son out of school due to bullying that wasn’t being dealt with properly. Principal doesn’t call back and attendant’s on recess obviously not paying attention. My son was choked and punched by another child for awhile, until two other students ran to tell attendant. My daughter was enrolled for a bit but was punched in the stomach on playground (again, attendant didn’t see), and blamed for retaliating to being physically and verbally bullied. The child who punched her in the stomach is the same one who choked and punched my son. My son was also punched in the face by another student on the bus. We were told he would get a “bus buddy” who would keep him from hurting our son again. Instead he was sat close enough he would still threaten my son. He was not allowed to ride the bus for three days for punching my son. Punching someone in the face is assault and this should have resulted in a suspension. He was also being bullied by another child who would hit him when nobody was watching, and last week came home upset because he had been hit across the face with a hula hoop. There are a TON of children at this school who are very aggressive and need to be removed or given proper education and treatment so they don’t inflict physical and emotional pain onto other kids. I’m angry and disappointed in the lack of care the administration shows for kids who are being bullied. There is a lot of talk here and no action. We were wondering why our son had been acting very emotional after starting first grade. We even had a meeting and they recommended counseling (which we set him up for). He’s not the problem.
