I found the people to be real and caring and knowledgeable about their subject. Having been raised in a non-Christian faith household, and studied many philosophical and religious writings; I find that the negative comments posted here smack of religious intolerance. I grant everyone their own beliefs, and find that ,Mr. Hubbard's writings speak to universal truths. Dianetics was to me, about mental health and Scientology is about Spirituality and becoming a better self; a better spiritual being able to have a better relationship with God; no matter the faith. Those who actually read Hubbard's book, "A New Slant On Life" can come to their own conclusion,as I have. It prompted me to read more, which I am happy to have exploded. That is how; then, after reading Dianetics 2nd, I discovered the difference. If you are a searcher; and student of life, as I am; you'll read one our both of the books I did and find out for your self. Both are available at normal book outlets or most libraries. I also found the available videos helpful. Without ANY contact with the organization itself; I can say that from reading and understanding the books available; I have benefitted in my life as a result. Spoken from a student of life. Critics critique; students syudy, evaluate and learn something from sources of observable truths.
