I found this place to be extremely underwhelming and their website to be deceitful in nature. The first thing their website says is that it’s the “Home of the private, quiet Cabin Experience”. Quiet, yes! Private, not so much… The cabins, at least the one that I stayed in which was a 1 room cabin, are located side by side in a gravel parking lot just off the main office. There are four of these stacked side by side not more than 10 to 20 feet apart from one another. Also, their website does state that “All Cabins have Wi-Fi” when in reality, the connection is so week that none of my devices would stay connected and when they were able to establish a connection, nothing would load.
Additionally, they mention that they “have dog friendly cabins, so you can bring your furry buddy”. However, what they don’t mention is that, if at any point you want to leave “your furry buddy” behind even just to be able to hit the restaurants in town for the evening, you must bring a crate for your dog to stay in. This was extremely inconvenient since I do not own a crate for my dog. Thus, I was forced to go looking for a store that sold one. Luckily there was a Walmart located only a 48-minute roundtrip drive away…
Furthermore, I found it unhelpful that their website did not mention that you would need to haul up your own charcoal and starter fluid to use their BBQ.
Each of these things are not inherently all that troublesome. It is just that there was no effort to advise of such things prior to arrival. If we would have been advised, it most likely would not have changed our decision to stay here. Instead, it would have just made us better able to prepare for our weekend away from home.
Update: If you dare post a review that honestly reflects your experience with this place and that review does not jive well with the owner, expect to receive a condescending email that strongly urges you to remove it citing their cheap rate and 16 years of business as reasons why my post is, to them, invalid. I was very surprised to receive such an email and it truly goes to show the business ethics and practices of this place. Be wary of giving them your business.
