The Bloedel Reserve (last admission 1 hr before closing)

A beautiful reserve, worth at least a yearly trip, but aim for more. Our favorite area of Bloedel Reserve the Japanese maples and moss garden. The volunteers are friendly and super helpful and can be found upon driving up, in the gate house, in the old family manor, and outside the Japanese garden. They are a plethora of information and tidbits about the reserve and plant life. While stroller friendly, without two adults I would take the alternate path or go without a stroller. I would also make sure to have some luck and bug repellent; lots of mosquitoes around the water features. Also do not bring pets, not allowed in the reserve or waiting in car.
