I brought my 5 year old son here to get some fillings. He has many medical and developmental problems so I was referred here to get his dental work done. Before his appointment I met with someone to go over the procedure and they said that I could walk him back to the room but could not stay during the procedure which I was ok with. When we got there the child before me got carried off kicking and screaming by the dental assistant. I asked them again to confirm I could walk him back as I know he would feel safe and do better for them if I did. They said absolutely not. They said they have had to have 4 people hold an autistic child down before and that they can handle it. My issue was that I want his dental experience to be a good one. He shouldn't be traumatized especially when it can be completely avoided. My son has had to go to so many doctors in his short life and I am appalled at their lack of concern for the child's experience. Just because they are a state insurance accepted place does not mean that they should treat the parents or patients any different. Never going back their again.
